How do you tame your hair?

How to Tame Your Hair in 4 Simple Steps

Got unruly hair? Can’t seem to tame those tresses? Tired of looking like Simba’s frizzy cousin? Never fear, your friendly neighborhood Jellyfish is here! What with having bad hair days for most of my adult life, I feel like I know a thing or two about dealing with untameable tresses.

So without further ado, here’s my foolproof guide to taming your hair in four easy steps:

1) Have you tried brushing it?

Apparently, there are people out there who brush their hair and somehow magic it into a lovely ‘do without any fuss while the rest of us only manage to make it worse the more we brush it.

So yes, try brushing it. If you are of the lucky few, that will do the trick and you’ll have runway hair in 2 minutes and be out the door in 4. If on the other hand you only manage to make your hair grow frizzy and more unruly the more you brush it, you may need to progress to step 2…

2) Pull it into a ponytail.

Love it or hate it, the ponytail is definitely one of the simplest ways to do your hair without actually spending time, you know, doing your hair. Before you get too excited though, it is also a hairstyle that can go very wrong if you happen to have frizzy little bits of hair sticking up all over your pretty little head. So now that you have succeeded in making yourself look like you have a baby hedgehog on your head, you have 2 options:

3) Use product

When dealing with frizz or broken hair that refuses to lie flat on your head, hair products can be a lifesaver. Nothing like a dash of gel or a spritz of hairspray to turn that disaster into a sleek red carpet look at the drop of a hat! However, if you’re anything like me, the product may not always be the answer. I don’t know about you but any time I use hair products I either end up with a too stiff ‘do that could probably withstand a nuclear holocaust or a greasy mop that looks like I haven’t washed it in ages. So if you’re anything like me, you can go on to the second option:

4) Invest in some new hats, scarves, or bandanas

So you’ve tried everything and it’s just one of those days when you can’t do anything with your hair? Take a deep breath, stay calm, and accept that today is just going to be a bad hair day. Simply cover it up with a hat or a bandana and call it a day. Life is too short to stress over a bad hair day (or 7).
