My Not-So-Secret Addiction

No, I haven’t taken up smoking or drinking or smoke-drinking (that’s a thing right?). My addiction is a lot more acceptable (and a lot more common) in this day and age.

What is it?

I’ll give you 3 guesses…

Once a tech-nerd always a tech-nerd, right?

I loved the idea of micro-blogging when I first signed up for twitter way back in 2012, but I definitely wasn’t prepared for how addictive it would be. Who knew that getting news, humor, entertainment and more in 160 character bites could be so addictive to a frazzled stay-at-home mom with zero me-time?

On second thought, I probably should have seen that one coming.

So yes, Twitter is definitely a rabbit hole I have inadvertently fallen down and I don’t see myself coming out of it any time soon.

On an unrelated note, are you on Twitter? If you are, come say hi!

  1. I am not addicted to twitter, I check it maybe once a month, if even that, and only when I am REALLY bored (which is not very often given that I am a teacher, lol) but I certainly can see why one would be addicted to it!

    1. Honestly speaking, anything can be addictive if you let it! My addiction used to be be books but now I don’t have the time/attention span to read as much as I used to so Twitter was the obvious replacement πŸ˜‚

    1. We each have our own private addictions πŸ˜‚ I’ve had a Twitter account for a while but it’s only recently that I’ve gotten really into it. I just like the minimalism of it.

  2. I don’t get it. I tweet sometimes, (usually more extreme political stuff than I would on FB), but I’ve never considered it a microblog. Like, just a sentence? “First there was love, then there was ravioli.” Like that?

    1. Lol! Yeah, sort of like that πŸ˜‚ Micoblogging is fun once you get the hang of it πŸ™‚ Some things need a full blogpost while others don’t. The fun is trying to express those ‘others’ in 160 characters!
