Tiny Little Teacups

I like pretty things, I’m a sucker for them to be honest, but I do an ok job (mostly) of not hoarding all the pretty things I see Gollum-style. There are certain types of pretty things though that I just can’t resist and tea cups are pretty high up on that list!

My husband likes to joke that I have more tea sets in my kitchen than clothes in my closet and I’m pretty sure he’s not too far off the mark.

So yes, I’m always on the lookout for pretty teacups wherever I might be, which is probably why I walked into a toy store this weekend only to walk out with a tiny little china tea set for Lilly.

I know I know, giving a toddler something breakable to play with isn’t the best of ideas, but this thing was too cute to pass up! Lilly on her part loves it as much as her crazy mother does and handles the tiny thing with the most adorable levels of care.

Don’t you just loves ‘toys’ that are as much for moms as they are for kids?

Though of course I need a much larger cup to get my post-dinner caffeine fix ๐Ÿ˜‚.

  1. Hi N,

@ “Gollum-style” cracked me up, my mental ears heard “My precioussss”. XD

I love Lilly’s cute tea set, knowing myself, I’d probably borrow it simply to confirm my suspicions that hot beverages might taste better when pink polka dots are thrown into the mix. Lol

Awww, I’m glad that she handles it carefully, the design is so pretty.

    1. Thank you! I think I’m more in love with the thing than Lilly but that’s to be expected ๐Ÿ˜‚ Pink polka dots make everything nicer ๐Ÿ˜Š

  2. I used to collect tea cups, and have at least 4 miniature sets myself so I totally get that “Gollum style” obsessed feeling of having to have it too well.

That pink polka dot set is adorable! I have more willpower these days and am in more of down-sizing frame of mind so I think, I’m pretty sure, maybe I could have left the store without it. ๐Ÿ™‚

I hope Lilly has many years of happy tea parties with the set.

  3. Aw, that tea set is just too sweet!

My grandmother had the most fantastic collection of incredibly ornate, mismatched teacups. It was practically an adventure trying to pick which one I wanted to drink out of on any given day. And I can guarantee I’m going to be just as bad of a teacup hoarder the second I move somewhere with enough space for a curio cabinet!
