Nano Poblano and the Quest for more Nonsense Words

Its the fourth day of National Blog Posting Month and here I am, already cheating. Well, sort of cheating anyway, depending on how you look at it. See, NaBloPoMo is all about writing (and posting) every single day which of course means coming up with something to say every single day. What I call cheating is where you don’t actually write a proper blog post but instead resort to going all meta and write about writing (or not being able to write as the case may be).

What if I take a picture of my laptop screen while not writing? Meta enough?

I know I know, I’ve already done that once already with my post about it being November and the start of NaBloPoMo, but in my defence, I am actually writing about something else and not about that again. You see, since that last post, I have acquired yet another set of difficult-to-pronounce nonsense words to add to my list of things-I’ve-signed-up-for-this-month.

What am I talking about you say? About Nano Poblano of course! Yessir, I am now officially a tiny pepper over at Rarasaur’s Nano Poblano post-a-day challenge and for the life of me I can’t seem to pronounce that name without getting my tongue tired up in knots. Quite a tongue-twister that Nano Poblano, though at least it’s vaguely pronounceable, unlike NaBloPoMo. Though it probably doesn’t help that I have a slight lisp and these already made up words come out even more nonsensical when I say them..

But I digress. The point of this random and meandering post is to announce (and celebrate) my addition to the Nano Poblano blogroll and send out a shoutout to the lovely Rara for hosting! Hurray for more incentive to write daily and post daily! Hurray for  blogging communities that help inspire you and hurray for (hopefully) making it through the month in one piece!

  1. All these “nanos” remind me of Mork and Mindy, a 1970s TV comedy starring Robin Williams as an alien. His greeting was “nano nano” while making a peace sign with four fingers. I loved that show.

  2. Hi, I’m visiting you from the land of NanoPoblano! 😉 I have trouble saying all the Nano acronyms too, and keeping which one is which. Looking forward to reading more of your posts! Much luck for the daily writing!
