Change: The Pinterest Way!

One would think a two bedroom apartment would be enough space for a small family of 3. After all, how many rooms could we possibly need?

Apparently, at least one more.

You see, the husband requires space to work at home, and what started out as an ‘office table’ in the corner of the smaller bedroom soon morphed into a ‘office corner’ and eventually sprawled all over the room till there was no use NOT calling the entire room what it now was: anΒ office.

Apparently this is not all you need for a ‘home office’

There go my plans for making the room into a cute little bedroom/playroom for Lilly.

Never fear though, I am nothing if not adaptable!

Does Lilly need a bed of her own and space to play? Sure. Does it have to be an entire separate room? Nope.

So after many nights on Pinterest (that place is way more addictive than it seems at first glance), several visits to stores and midnight buys on Amazon, I created a space for Lilly to call her own in one corner of our large master bedroom.

What do you guys think? I’m no Pinterest Mom, but I’m proud of what I managed to pull of πŸ™‚

Is there any project you’ve been working on? Is there any project you are especially proud of? Or one you’ve been meaning to get started on?

  1. Brilliant. I love wall clings – wish they’d been more available when ours were little. I’m toying with the idea of a bedroom makeover for husband and me during Christmas break. Pretty daunting prospect, though. Would include new paint, rug, larger mattress, and all new furniture. Probably more than our budget will stretch to.

    1. That’s a big project! But will be worth it if you manage it πŸ™‚ I love changing our room around a little from time to time to keep from getting bored. Completely new furniture, paint and rugs requires more work then just moving the furniture around though 😝 good luck!

      1. Our room has been the same for ten years, and my tastes have change. AND I’m sick to death of fighting for space in our bed. Even if we can’t do a total redecoration, we’ve GOT to get a bigger bed!

      1. Also, if you (or your readers) ever have any questions about toddlers and/or home design for those living with a toddler(s) please let me know! That is my specialty and I am happy to help. It doesn’t take much to make a section of each room in the house toddler-friendly and it certainly makes everyone’s living arrangement more harmonious. xo Whitney

    1. Thank you! Lilly does love it πŸ™‚ and yes that is a wall sticker (there was a lion in the set too but I destroyed it trying to put it on 😣)
And dont worry, we are ALL secretly addicted to Pinterest 😝

  2. That looks great! I chose the smallest room in my apartment for Caleb’s room and everyone wanted to know why I didn’t put him in the bigger room. I chose to use the bigger room as a playroom. Small spaces can still be cute and comfortable.
