Weekend Coffee Share

Happy Sunday everyone! Hope everyone had an adventurous week and a relaxing weekend! Me, I had a little bit of both…

If we were having coffee right now, I would tell you…

This past Thursday was Eid-ul-Azha (the second of two Eids in the Muslim calendar) which is a day of celebration, eating, and spending time with family. The only problem with this lovely picture? The fact that the closest family members live a good 3-4 hours away from us while the rest live halfway across the world in Pakistan.

So yes, slight problem. The solution? Simple: road trip!

Road trips are always fun, though a screaming toddler in the backseat who’s tired of sitting in one place can make it just a tad bit frustrating as well. After all is said and done though, Lilly was a pretty good traveler this weekend as we drove to Virginia and than proceeded to zig zag around the state in a bid to visit as many family and friends as possible. So yes, we basically spend the past few days on the road, but it wasn’t as bad as I was secretly afraid it would be, so I count that as a win!

This weekend the hubby and I discovered Elevation Burger and I think we are in love. So so good you guys! Food lovers that we are, it isn’t often that we both agree on how good or bad a restaurant is, so it’s a good day when we both love a new place.I would recommend that everyone who has one in their area try it out, and that Elevation Burger give me royalties for the unsolicited (and unintentional) advertising that I’m apparently providing them.

This week/weekend wasn’t all fun and games though. Sometime this Thursday my lovely blog decided to glitch and crash for no discernible reason, giving me a mild heart attack in the process. Far away from my laptop and tablet, all I could do was panic as  more and more people messaged me to say my blog just wasn’t loading. Do you know how difficult it is to try and fix a website using only your smartphone and zero knowledge of what the problem is?

Let’s just say it’s not exactly walk in the park. In the end all I could figure was that it was a problem with the theme I was using so I changed it, which seemed to fix the problem. Now the only problem was that I had switched to a random theme I didn’t even like and mildly OCD that I am, I could not stop obsessing about getting home to my laptop and switching to a nicer one!

I really did love my original theme and I hate to have had to change it, but you can’t argue with fate, right?

  1. I’m planning a road trip of my own this coming weekend (although without baby:) and was a bit trepidatious about it until I read how fun yours was even with the blog glitch…so I’m going to enjoy the moments and not worry about what might go wrong, as per usual.
