Is It Procrastination If I Never Intended To Do It?

Exhausted mother

Before baby goes to sleep:

I'm going to do the laundry after the baby goes to sleep.

I'm definitely going to remove this week old nail polish tonight, after Lilly goes to bed.

I'm going to write that blogpost as soon as Lilly goes down for the night.

As soon as Lilly goes to sleep I'll clean up this messy living room so I don't have to in the morning!

I'm definitely going to do my 20 min workout after Lilly goes to bed.

I'll respond to all these texts/emails/phone calls after I've put Lilly down for the night.

After baby goes to sleep:

….

Screw it, I'm just going to collapse on the sofa and binge watch How I Met Your Mother for a bit before dragging myself to bed.

  1. Your mistake was believing in this time called “after Lily goes to bed”. It doesn’t exist. I know we all like to think that this time exists, but it’s in fact only a myth. Like Santa Clause is to children. They’ll never actually know if he exists, because they’ll be sleeping through his visit. Every time he comes.
